"God Hates Fags" Hoax, or Hatemonging?
NOTE! Faith Well Grounded is absolutely and diametrically opposed to the "God Hates Fags" message and movement
Thanks

I've looked into this just enough to assure myself that it is a joke. I'm not exactly sure what their intent is, but I'm leaning toward the idea that it is an effort to show just how stupid groups like Fred Phelps' are.
What makes me think that it's a joke? Well, the other videos on their website are obvious jokes, with their usage of "angry gay midgets" assaulting them, the over-the-top interview, hetero-enhancing energy drink, etc... It's fairly obvious.
I'm kind of up in the air as to my feelings about this. On one hand it works very well to show how stupid the "God Hates Fags" groups are. On the other, for those not familiar enough with the teachings and beliefs of true Christianity, it can give an unfair portrayal of these teachings and beliefs (just as Fred Phelps and his ilk do).
Thus, this blog post.
God does not hate homosexuals. As a matter of fact, He loves each of you enough that He died for you. Not only does He love you, but so do I, and every other Christian should too. That doesn't mean we have to agree with your choice of lifestyle-- that's what tolerance is, tolerating what we disagree with. But we are called to love you.
Some more matters of fact: That love for you is what should define us as Christians if we truly know Christ, because His character should become ours, and His character is LOVE. Further, that love defines whether we truly know Him and are His children.
1Jo 3:10 By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother.
I think Fred Phelps and his crew that call themselves Christians should pay a little more attention to that scripture. They are condemned in their hate just as they seek to condemn you for your lifestyle.
So, as a Christian, what are my thoughts on homosexuality? It is wrong. It is a sin. What do I think of homosexuals? They are sinners. But Christ died for them just as He did for me when I was his enemy. That's the message I hope to convey, one of limitless love and possible reconciliation, not one of hate and needless separatism.
In love...

Dang I had to do math! I
Dang I had to do math! I got the question wrong 14 times before it let me post this comment :-)
Wow. I have no clue what that is all about. I went to the lovegodsway.org and snooped around for a while. If you find any links explaining more info I would be interested in checking them out.
I guess I should take the capcha down a couple of grade levels
Maybe even use pictures of wooden blocks? :)
Not a hoax..
This video is not a hoax. I can see the sarcasm in the video and in everything else these guys are making, but I think that their understanding of a very important truth is incorrect. Maybe I am wrong. He makes the comment in one video that God hates people but Jesus loves them. He say that God hates Fags. We all know in fact that God does not hate sinners but only hates the sin that we participate in. I believe this guy doesn't believe this truth and is therefore putting out a false message. I read all over his site and watched the videos, he is either in ignorance of this simple truth or he is not clearly communicating his message of God's unconditional love.
I can see his heart for homosexuals to know the Lord and turn from their sin, but too many times he says that God hates homosexuals. Again it could all be humor, but I don't think that his coarse jesting ("Watch Donnie cock block the Dark Lord on his turf" Stroke the power") is glorifying God. And he is misrepresenting God with "God hating people", whether he believes that or not he never states otherwise anywhere on his site.
Personally I would not reference this video on my site because some might see it as the way that I view the subject.
Good points
I actually struggle with whether or not to leave the reference up, just as I struggled with whether to reference it in the first place.
I leave the reference up because I want to show correct Christian doctrine on the subject. The video, whether hoax or hate, is a total misrepresentation of God. At the very least, it can be a good starting point for speaking about God's limitless and perfect love.
Thanks for the input. It is always highly valued. Don't be a stranger.
Update: I've added a disclaimer reinforcing FWG's position above the video. Thank you Amos for reinforcing the need for at least that.
